To become a DIVA all you have to do is set goals in your life and then work to reach them. If you're anything like me you'll find that determination gets you up when you would rather be sleeping in, inspiration comes in many many forms, vision is the prerequisite to all success and the achievement only fuels your desire to do it all again.
I am so grateful for the DIVA's in my life. Today I'm going to tell you about 3 of them.
1)Diva Lizz is a kick butt personal trainer and all around rockstar. She can do anything she sets her mind to, especially if it seems impossible to everyone else.
2)Diva Tawnya inspires me to find the athlete inside myself and stay consistent. She always has it all together even when she thinks its not. Just trust me on that.
3)Diva Arlene has so many talents that her hardest task is choosing what to shine in. She has a fabulous attitude and makes things look easy by telling herself and everyone else, "It's not as hard if you just jump in and don't think too much about it."
There are many more DIVA's in my life so stay tuned to read about how these awesome people keep me climbing.

In the previous posts I have discussed all the principles of DIVA except achievement. Today my achievement was getting out and running in the rain. I didn't think I would make it very far. I only needed to feel strong after being sick all week. The first mile was rough, but the wind was at my back and the rain held off until I picked a destination. Then it poured on me for about 5 mins and made me laugh because everyone who drove by thought I was insane for running in a downpour. Finally 5 miles later I called my husband and had him come and pick me up. (Lets be realistic I was not going back against the wind and the rain and I've been sick all week.) So 1 mile turned into 5 miles and I reached beyond my mental limit and the harder it rained and the more it hurt the farther I ran.
I feel strong again and that was my goal and my achievement.
What did you do for yourself today?

what a fun blog! Thanks for sharing about the divas in your life--it made me think of all the ones in mine. And good job running five miles in the rain! I think you're a rock star, even if you did call your husband to pick you up and bring you home; after all, part of reaching goals is knowing when to call it a day, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lori. Yep. I had my husband bring my kids becaused I had promised to walk with them after my short run. He dropped us all a mile from home and I walked my three kids back to the house as the sun poked out for the first time. So I was completely happy with calling in the cavalry.
ReplyDeleteWoot! Woot! I'm a DIVA!
ReplyDeleteBut only cuz Donna says so. :) This is the only place I get sappy, so here I go. Donna inspires me daily to be a better version of myself. I don't know anyone else who is so sure that I can be successful. On the other side of that, I'm pretty sure Donna is going to be a rock star author at any moment so....here's to you, Donna! :)
Woot! Woot! Me too!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel, Donna. I ran in the rain on Saturday, too, but unfortunately for me it rained and rained...nonstop...for twelve miles...But I felt awesome at the end, even if I did get blisters on both feet! You are an inspiration to everyone who meets you, and I am totally jealous of your many many talents!
Yeah, Tawnya. You are such an overachiever. 12 miles! Hehehe. Good luck on the 1/2 marathon coming up. Way to have that training schedule right where you want it.
